Rooted in Nature, Guided by Wisdom

We’re Shannon and Katie — a permaculture designer and a microbiologist — and together we created Natural Omniculture as a living practice of designing systems that heal land, nourish communities, and align with nature’s intelligence.

Our Story

Our journey began with a shared love for the natural world and a deep curiosity about how life sustains itself. Over time, we realized that the answers we were seeking — for health, for harmony, for hope — were already present in the cycles of nature and the traditions of indigenous and ancient cultures.

With backgrounds in horticulture, biology, and systems thinking, we started turning our half-acre homestead into a model of regeneration: a place where food, medicine, soil, and spirit grow together.

Natural Omniculture grew from that soil — and it continues to evolve as a way of living, learning, and sharing with others.

Who We Are

Shannon Wade

Certified permaculture designer, educator, and systems builder. Passionate about transforming land into thriving, functional ecosystems that support human and planetary wellbeing.

Katie Jean

Microbiologist and lifelong learner of the tiny things that shape our world. Focused on the intersection of biology, health, and ecology — and how microbes can help us heal from the ground up.

Together, we bring a balance of grounded practice and scientific insight to every project we take on.

Our Philosophy

Natural Omniculture is the art of living in alignment with the full spectrum of life.

We blend ancient wisdom with modern science, permaculture with pattern literacy, to create regenerative systems that grow more than just food — they grow connection, abundance, and resilience.

We believe the future depends on our ability to learn from nature, not just exploit it — and we’re here to help others join that journey.

What We Do

Regenerative Design

Regenerative design focuses on creating systems that restore, renew, and enhance the environments they touch. Instead of simply minimizing harm, this approach actively improves soil health, water cycles, biodiversity, and human well-being. Through thoughtful planning, ecological principles, and nature-based solutions, regenerative design helps landscapes — and the communities connected to them — become more resilient, productive, and alive.

Experimentation

We explore the hidden dynamics of soil, microbes, plants, and ecosystems through hands-on experiments and practical trials. By working directly with living systems — observing, testing, and learning from real biological processes — we uncover insights that deepen our understanding of regeneration. This work helps us refine our methods, share discoveries with our community, and demonstrate how nature’s intelligence can guide healthier, more resilient ways of growing.

Education

We believe knowledge should be practical, empowering, and rooted in real experience. Through workshops, courses, videos, and written guides, we share the principles and practices of regenerative living in a way that’s accessible and inspiring. Our goal is to help people understand how natural systems work — and how to apply that understanding in their homes, gardens, and communities.

Connection

Regeneration thrives when people come together. We build relationships with neighbors, growers, makers, and local organizations to strengthen the web of support that sustains healthy ecosystems and healthy communities. Through shared projects, mutual learning, and meaningful collaboration, we cultivate a sense of belonging and collective purpose — because real change grows from connection.
